Greatest Metal Video Ever... Satanic Black Metal Guest Edition

By popular, close to overwhelming demand we are hosting a Tr00 Satanic Black Metal edition of the infamous Greatest Metal Video Ever... Series. Here to take you on a journey to the world of raped goat corpses, shameless blasphemy and expressive panda make-up is your mistress of evil, Elodie Artour. Off we go!

The Black Satans - Satanic Darkness

Shot in the deepest darkest woods of Finland on a sunny summerday, The Black Satan's video has everything a black metal video needs: inverted crosses, an undisputed toughguy attitude, female slaves, evil facial expressions, partial nudity and a flag of Norway. Grimness; they're doing it right!

Reckless Tide - Kleemähendeäbte

The life of a black metal warrior sure is tough... or so this video implies. We all know those days when you wake up with tons of make-up and Hawaii shorts on, when it feels like the whole world - including that son of a bitch Superman - seems to be in your way. Add a wiseguy in a suit who has had his face painted, performing a line that could be described best as a mixture of Alphaville and HIM, whispering to a plush white tiger and an iceman trying to make a living... and what do you get? The perfect black metal video of course!

Dark Kirchensteuer - Leb' Doch Selber!

Acoustic black metal anyone? That sounds as absurd as eco spiritual black metal does, but respecting these musicians in the name of Satan is obligatory here. I bet every single black metal warrior dreams of the day he hangs himself on a forest tree with some acoustic black metal in the background, headbanging himself to death. Such an inspiring and romantic way to commit suicide... The only thing making this video somewhat ridiculous is the hippy drummer - then again, he sure as Hell fits perfectly with the band's style. And remember, the acoustic guitar - the Lord of Darkness seems to love it!

May Satan forgive me for making fun of his servants!

Satan's Host - New Album On The Way

Satanic metal warlords Satan's Host are currently at Flatline Audio with producer Dave Otero working on the band's ninth studio album, entitled By The Hands Of The Devil, to be released next year by Moribund Records.

The band recently parted ways with vocalist Eli Elixir, marking the return of Leviathan Thisiren (a.k.a. Harry Conklin of Jan Panzer and Titan Force).

According to a press release: "Founding six-string sorcerer Patrick Evil, with his cornucopia of über-evil riffs, has been at the top of his game with all-new tracks that will devour the weak at heart and those who try to dismiss this true metal virtuoso. Anthony 'Evil Hobbit' Lopez, making his second appearance on the drums of doom, has taken the groove to a new hellish high, and with the addition of Margar on bass, Satan's Host have taken their musical journey to new, darker realms with deeper and broader themes and lyrical content."

Commented Patrick Evil: "I think this will be our greatest album to date. Our ninth release for our 25th aniversary ? how much better can it get than that?"

Anathema - Concert In Tunisia Cancelled, Band Accused Of Satanism

As reported by Liverpool Echo, Liverpool-based Anathema who were about to play to more than 1,000 fans in Tunisia had the plug pulled on their concert when authorities believed rumours they were Satanists.

Anfield group Anathema were ready to perform a sold out gig in the capital Tunis when they were told they could not go ahead. They hoped to reschedule for a couple of nights later but the gig was cancelled a second time.

Guitar technician Darryl Anthony wrote in his blog: "Our promoter told us that somebody has informed the Tunisian interior ministry that Anathema are Satan worshippers who eat black cats and drink their blood. The ministry have requested song lyrics to peruse over the weekend in order to put their minds at rest."

Anathema formed in 1990 and have released a number of critically acclaimed albums, and although their roots are in dark doom-death metal, their sound has evolved over the years to a more melodic rock sound. Their lyrics, often focusing on love and loss, have never been a matter of controversy and they often play special gigs with accompaniment from friends in the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra.

After the Tunisian show - due to take place in a deconsecrated cathedral - was cancelled last weekend, the band tried to make amends by playing a stripped-down acoustic set for 50 fans at their hotel.

Anthony added to his blog: "It's such a shame for all the Tunisian fans. We don't really know why this happened and who really was to blame - there's been a lot of talk and a lot of silence surrounding the whole affair."

The band plan to reschedule the gig in future.

Danny Cavanagh said: "If you read any of our lyrics, you'll see nothing could be further from the truth than what's been said. We don't even swear in our songs, a lot of lyrics are about healing, and light and are very positive. We're just normal lads - the last band you could accuse of Satanism. I think all it was a rival promoter using any means he could to get the show cancelled and using the magic words 'heavy metal' worked. But there's been a lot of misinformation. It could have been our promoter at that end didn't have the papers in order. This has been big news in Tunisia and a lot of people have been disappointed and we're hoping to go back in June to repay everbody's good faith."

Fans said that the Tunisian authorities should be "ashamed". Aziz Hmaidi said: "We really hope that Anathema will come back to Tunisia. This was a real shame for us, for our country's image, especially because it was the first visit of the band here."

Deicide Complete 'Homage For Satan' Video Shoot

Satan's favourite sons Deicide spent 12 hours locked up in baking
Floridian conditions last weekend while they filmed the video for the
skin-flaying new track 'Homage For Satan'. In temperatures reaching
almost 100º Fahrenheit, the band ripped through the track again and
again with a level of energy and enthusiasm that would destroy many less
committed bands, drummer Steve Asheim in particular pulling of the
almost inhuman feat of playing for 12 hours straight in broiling
conditions without dropping a beat.

Never one to be outdone, Glen Benton then upped the stakes considerably
by donning the now legendary God deflecting armour, last seen at the
Roadrunner All Stars show, and performing the latter part of the video
shoot effectively wearing a second skin. Add to that some blistering
guitar work from Jack Owen and Ralph Santolla and the climactic scene of
the video where Glen is seen spewing forth bile and you just know that
this might just be one of the most intense videos of 2006. Directorial
duties on 'Homage For Satan' are handled by Detroit based crew Scrambled
Visual, who will be filming some additional Christ-baiting material back
in Detroit this weekend.

Expect 'Homage For Satan' to be hitting your TV screens later this
month, if you can't wait that long, head on over to iTunes where you can
currently download an exclusive early mix of 'Homage For Satan' as part
of 'The Stench Of Redemption 666 EP'. The album 'The Stench Of
Redemption' will be in stores August 21st (UK/ Europe) August 22nd (USA).
