Serenity - Album Teaser Online

Austrian symphonic power metal band Serenity have uploaded an album preview for their upcoming release, Death & Legacy. Check it out below. Death & Legacy is set to be released on February 25th via Napalm Records.

According to a press release, Serenity's third album embarks on a journey to discover the historic figures of ages past. Embellished in symphonic metal garb, Christopher Columbus, Giacomo Casanova, Sir Francis Drake, Queen Elizabeth I, and many more prominent figures take center stage on Death & Legacy. The band masterfully unites the emotions and thoughts of these famed characters with the fitting musical interludes that allow them to tell their tales. The emphasis of Serenity's sound remains guitar-oriented metal, although they also use orchestral arrangements to create a detailed and colorful symbiosis of symphonic and metallic elements.

Serenity - Part Ways With Bassist, Replacement Announced

Austrian metallers Serenity have issued the following update on their official website:

"In Serenity's history, this is the first truly sad message we have to publish. Simon Holzknecht - bass guitars - quits Serenity due to personal reasons.

Within the last couple of years Simon was a constant and important part within the band and his bass playing completed our releases (Words Untold & Dreams Unlived, Fallen Sanctuary) as well as our live performances. We have a lot of great memories to share from our weeks and weeks on tour, in studio, rehearsing or simply having fun with each other. We know hoch much effort and idealism is needed for a band such as Serenity and so we fully understand and back up his decision. Of course we wish him the best for his future career - no matter in which direction it may lead. Simon stated that he will not join another band immediately - what the future holds... we will see (or better hear).

Be assured that this will have absolutely no effect on our upcoming release or our live gigs! Bass guitars for our upcoming release Death & Legacy were already recorded by Tom Buchberger (guitars, songwriting).

And here are the good news! Fabio D'Amore (Pathosray, Fairyland) will join Serenity for all future live performances starting with our ProgPower Europe (NL) gig on the 1st of October 2010. Fabio plays in several bands and runs his own studio in Pordenone (IT). The fact that his other bands only perform some single shows a year made it quite easy to get him on board our battleship cruiser. He is fully addicted to music and we are looking forward to a whole lot of new touring experiences as well as gorgeous "Austrian-English-Italian-translations" (this will be pain in the ass)! If Fabio will become a full Serenity member is a decision to be made by all of us in the future to come...

By the way... The new album is in the mixing process!"

Serenity - New Album Title Revealed

Austrian metallers Serenity have issued the following update on their MySpace blog:

"Hi there!

I think it's time for a little update - we're working hard on the new CD and I can tell you some details now:

The title for the album will be Death & Legacy and we're working on a historical concept for the whole album. Nine songs are nearly finished now so there are only two more songs left to write for the limited editions (one for Europe/USA and one for Japan). The songs so far are really fantastic! Bombastic, speedy and there's a great ballad as well. There will be some interludes and we're just working on the concept for the video clip. There'll also be an online single in advance but I can't tell you exactly when!

The album will be finished in summer but we have got no influence on the release date! The promo-pics are keeping us busy too and within the next weeks we'll have a big photo shooting and I can promise you the pictures will be something really special and new - no boring pics showing five musicians standing in front of a wall...

The next news concerning the album will follow quite soon, we'll have some guests on our new album as well - so have a guess!

Please be patient and we'll do our best creating a real masterpiece!

Cheers,
Georg and Serenity."

Fall Of Serenity - Call It Quits

German metal band Fall Of Serenity have called it quits. Here's the official statement:

"After 10 years, we have to close the chapter Fall Of Serenity. In the last weeks we thought, after almost splitting up in 2008, we could go on doing the next record - at least after a break from playing live. But something unexpected happened just this week. Our singer John will join the band Deadlock on the bass position. These circumstances, and the global warming, make it impossible to go on. So we felt that we, including John, should finally end it. We wish John good luck and thank him for everything. Also a big thanks to all our supporters and foremost to our great fans. Thank you! Three of us will continue with a new project, so there is a chance to see our ugly faces somewhere in the future again. Bye, bye!"
