Soulfly - New Song Released

After showcasing the new track "We Sold Our Souls To Metal" before, Soulfly have more to offer today. They have released a lyric video for the brand new the track "Sodomites". The song comes from the band's impending 10th studio album Archangel and features Todd Jones of Nails fame on guest vocals. Dive into the heaviness of the asphyxiating track "Sodomites" right here.

"I wrote this track about the wrath God which struck down Sodom for their sinful behavior," commented legendary frontman Max Cavalera. "I used quotes from the Old Testament in some of the lyrics. It was also really exciting to work with Todd from Nails on this track since I'm a big fan!"

Archangel will be released on August 14th via Nuclear Blast Entertainment.

Soulfly as Soulfly is and always will be I guess. Liked the song, don't care much for the intro, just start the song at 0:30 and get that shit going!

Good song, strong and somewhat catchy. It seems this new opus will be better than Savages, fortunately.

The problem with peeps here is the moment you see bands like Soulfly, dipshit judgements start dropping in. Before you give track couple of spins and realize what they have construct on a new album, peeps start acting like dick.

Not aiming on you, man.

But, judgements like this gets annoying when track doesn't throw anything what people anticipate it,

Good track. Still could be better if they didn't drop too many bass parts in.

Thing is I've never been a fan. I'll listen to any new music, bands change, but Soulfly never struck a chord with me and this new track doesn't sway me.

Seconded. Plus it's funny that Max made this album with his son Zyon on drums. Every father's dream.

Much respect to this Cavalera family.

You might have not connected with Soulfly but anything comes from their side can't be bad.

This is shortsighted hate towards bands like these.

I believe many people here give a freedom for their hated bands to get better. The new song could be a good reflection of good album but again, nothing can be confirmed til' whole thing drops in.

Max made this album with his son Zyon on drums

The drums on this song sound programmed to me!

In terms of the song, it's okay. I preferred the first song they released.

I would describe my taste as anything but shortsighted. As I said, I keep an open mind and I'll take the time to listen to these tracks even from bands I'm not particularly fond of. I've been surprised many times. Granted my first comment was inane but I'm not calling them a terrible band.

Just as I've heard the first two singles I will also listen to the album when it comes out and make a final judgment then.

It'll be much appreciated.

Let's see what Max has done this time.

Well you did call them a terrible band unless "poop" is a good thing. We'll forgive you though!

I'll bet good money you won't like it as you've not liked any of the 9 previous albums and this new one isn't looking to be a big change from the last 3 or from Cavalera Conspiracy's last one (same thing really just with slightly different line up - it all sounds Max Cavalera groove thrash for most part).

It'd be like me listening to new Agalloch and expecting myself to like it. It's a case of trying to get a square peg through a round hole.

Interestingly enough I did like Cavalera Conspiracy's last album so your bet is just as good as mine.

My biggest gripe is with the production, but maybe that's just YouTube's compression I'm hearing. I really liked the production on Pandemonium. I'm known to have controversial opinions, but also opinions that change a lot.
