Lotus Thief - Release 'Windhand' Cover Song
Lotus Thief have put out a video clip for their cover of Windhand's song "Aition". It was recorded and filmed in quarantine. Mixed and mastered by Colin Marston at The Thousand Caves in NYC.
Commented the band: "We chose to cover "Aition" by Windhand because the song called to us, not only with its sonic beauty but also with its message. Windhand is on regular rotation in our homes. Best known for their doomy riffs and walls of dark surging sound, in the wake of COVID, when the numbers started to rise around the Earth, we found ourselves listening to the exception rather than the norm. "Aition" is a quiet eye in the storm of "Grief's Infernal Flower", a somber but heart wrenching closer to a monster album. To us, this was one soundtrack to the times, a lullaby dirge to loss and a plea to stay strong. We thank Windhand and the bands who have given their listeners solace during dark times. We dedicate this release to all who have lost their lives to COVID-19."
