Imperial Age - Announce Album Release, Share First Details
Russian symphonic metal sextet Imperial Age are excited to announce new album release, their first since 2018. The band's fourth long player is named New World and will land in stores later this year. While waiting for other details, you can check out the cover artwork below.
Statement from the group: ''We are extremely glad and proud to be finally ready to present you with our new album! Its called New World and it will be released at the end on this year.
"Its our first big record since 2018's The Legacy Of Atlantis and it took us almost 4 years to write! This album contains 12 symphonic metal songs (and one of them - "The Call Of The Towers" - is a whopping 20 minutes long!). It has everything that we have already done - huge sound with heavy metal, orchestra, choir and various vocals. But it also has something that we have not done before (and what was probably missing) - lots of upbeat and catchy hit songs!
"The combination of these two things is what we love most about this release and we can't wait to share them with you! It has a great adventurous vibe to it which we are sure you will absolutely adore! Lyrically, the album is about freedom, exploration of new horizons, the search for truth, independence and development: in all meanings, both inner and outer. It has many layers of meanings and we hope you will enjoy discovering them in the lyrics!
"The album cover, which you see on the picture, was painted by Jan Yrlund in strict adherence to the concept created by Jane Odintsova and Aor. It is just as multi-layered as the music and lyrics, and is actually a ciphered text, written in the same symbolic language as the Sacred Book of Thoth, also known as the Tarot cards. This metaphoric language is a relative of the Egyptian hieroglyphic writing and conveys several messages at once.
"And over the next few weeks, while the crowdfunding is going, we will be revealing some of the ciphers and meanings on this picture! Oh, and by the way, the crowdfunding! In order to properly release this album and film 5 music videos we need your support!
"And for that we have prepared a special crowdfunding website that will go live on Thursday 15th July! It has a plethora of wonderful backer-only rewards, which will not be available anywhere else.
