The thing that I dislike about Canada is that we're somewhat TOO multicultural. Normally I think this is a good thing, especially if immigrants assimilate into the Canadian lifestyle, but that's not happening. It's easy to see the distinct asian, black, european, arab, ect neighborhoods especially in or around Toronto, and this urge that people have to "be with their own kind" is truly dividing us.

It's not that big of an issue I guess lol, but Canada's a good place to live and it'd be nice to see more people of different races or cultures befriending eachother, especially the middle aged.

I don't necessarily hate the U.S. its just that I hate its stereotypes and most of the people in it Our economy is almost completely fucked and every leader we have is incompetent. Plus the metal that comes from here is most of the time horrible. A good amount are very good though
The landscapes are very nice though and there are very good people that live here. OH, and our school system is almost nonexistent...

The multicultural thing is a massive deal in Australia too dude. People migrate here and start their own little communities - when we all thought they moved here to get away from their hard lives in their birth countries. I'm all for multiculturalism (is that a word?) but some people take it too far. Like when an older generation forces its beliefs onto the younger kids (like their grandchildren) and instead of bringing different races, whom are all living, working & learning in the same country, closer to together, it just spreads ignorance and tears people apart.

It's happening in Austalia too huh? Sorry to hear that. What's worst is that for the time it's just people keeping to their own races, but it could go as far as racial hatred soon enough.
There's also a lot of discrimination happening. An example is this asian mall (Pacific Mall) in the suburbs of Toronto; basically this place is FAMOUS for selling things cheaper to asians then they do to other races. This isn't just a joke either, they actually do it and it's obviously illegal.
Things like this actually get kind of annoying; if you like your race so much why didn't you stay in your own continent? If you come to a country treat all it's citizens equal or leave, least that's how i see things.

@ Toast - yeah man its all over the place here. Queensland is being invaded by Asians (they are mad for the sunshine) New South Wales is being invaded by every mofo under the sun, Melbourne mostly has Greeks. I don't know much about the other states, but I think Adelaide has lots of Greeks too (feel free to correct me anyone please).

To get a job with the goverment (or to keep it) in many cities and municipalities you must have some kind of political support instead of letting your work speaks for you. I mean, shouldnt it be logical that the good work I domade me keep my job instead of a councilman?

Perth is very multicultural. Between the Asians and Africans (not to mention the other nations) it's incredibly diverse. I think it might even be one of the most diverse capitals in Australia. I'm all for the multi-cultural aspect too but, like you, it does tend to irk me when they fail to at least attempt to integrate. It's very difficult to understand someone who isn't speaking English (this might sound a tad racist of me but I'm currently in the process of trying to learn other languages so I do understand the difficulties in learning something new).

I'm not entirely sure what you meant but Perth is more southern than a lot of places. I actually live in the south west part of Western Australia currently and I can tell you now, most of it is very rural. There's a hell of a lot of open space, to say the very least.

I haven't been to Alice Springs, no. The furthest I've been up north, in Western Australia, is Broome. I've been to Mission Beach and a little further up over in Queensland.
