Hello MSers. I could have created this topic in the Melodic-Metal forum since it's mostly the Folk Metal related bands that do Drinking Songs i think. But you never know, bands outside ov that scene might write about getting drunk / drinking.

So, what good drinking songs do you people know about?

i have heard :

"Beer Beer" - Korpiklaani,
"Happy Little Boozer" - Korpiklaani
"Wooden Pints" - Korpiklaani
and
"Another Drinking Song" - Skyclad

am i missing any? Recommend away MSers! plz.

I'm sure K7 will have plenty of drinking songs to tell you about when he is next online .

The only one I can think of is Alkohol by Kabat. (The spelling might be wrong - K7 told me about it )

Erdbeermund (or something like that), the best In Extremo song by far, would be good for a drinking party...

I personally have my own drinking soundtrack with my friends: La Renga, a Hard Rock band from Argentina.

Fuck You I'm Drunk by Flogging Molly...it's traditional Irish folk meeting hard rock. Ai Vis A Lo Lop by In Extremo is rather silly and therefore great for drinking

Turisas - "One More"
(Most likely the best drinking song I've heard. It has that killer tavernisque atmosphere)
Troll Bends Fir - "Hangoverlinen Juhlat"
(More folk than metal, but worth checking anyway. They consider themselves "Beer Folk" band, which should be enough to say )
Moonsorrow - "Tulkaapa Äijät!"
(Actually most of Moonsorrow stuff would be good background for drinking, but at least this one seems to be meant to be such)
Battleheart - "Nancy the Tavern Wench"
(Actually the only song I like by them. Good if you intend to drink rum )
Ensiferum - "Lai Lai Hei"
(All out feasting song. And the Lai Lai Hei part is just perfect for drinking)
Finntroll - "Det Iskalla Trollblod"
(Similar case as with Moonsorrow)
The Storyteller - "Chant of The Thieves"
(Not exactly a drinking song, but with those chants it could easly be one)
Strefa Mocnych Wiatrów - "Ja Stawiam"
(Band that plays Heavy Metal version of what could be described as traditional drinking songs)

Actually, Finntroll's 'Krigsmjöd' would make an awesome drinking song, seeing as the title means 'Warmead', and the melodies are drunkenish. A lot of Tuatha De Danann is really good for drinking, like 'Fin Gan Forn'. Elvenking's 'Hobs an' Feathers' and a lot of Cruachan's songs are fit for boozing too.

I don't know any drinking songs I think, but I remember that the first time I got drunk I listened to Iron Maiden's "Gangland", why I listened to one of Maiden's worst songs is a mystery

Finntroll's försvinn du som lyser is perfect.... most Ensiferum tracks but my favorie is Battle Song, everyone should join the drunken choirs..

Beer Beer from Korpiklaani, the lyrics, the music, everything, this song is perfect to dance like a viking while drinking lots of beer

Most of Finntroll's stuff is good for this, and viking metal in general. Tankard's music is also good for a drinking soundtrack.

Does Black Label Society's 'Stoned And Drunk' count?

Well, you have the Dutch anthem for beer drinking, Heidevolks 'Het Bier Zal Weer Vloeien' (The Beer Will Flow Again, something like that) and Tyrs 'The Wild Rover' serves it pretty well as well I guess.

Hard to say if this can be regarded as a song, but Sonata Arctica´s "Vodka Hava Nagila". The last song they play on every gig.

I don't have a specific song but one album that's fucking sweet for drinking is Down II.
