Both the best of the Swedish brand of death metal, who is better??? Frankly I can't exactly decide, but I'm leaning towards Entombed.

Dissection vs Entombed seems like a wierd comparison to me. If it was Dismember/Grave/Unleashed etc vs Entombed it would make more sense. Both are great bands regardless .... Id probably go with Entombed based on the enormous influence and the excellent earlier albums (including Wolverine Blues) Dissection are influential and released some good earlier material as well, But they pale in comparison to Entombed IMO.

Dissection is way too far removed from pure Swedish death metal for a comparison to really exist. Like the @gent said, if it was Dismember/Grave/Unleashed/etc. I'd understand, but Dissection was more melodic black metal than anything else. The music's different, as is the message.

This is basically a black vs. death thread. And we all know how friendly those debates are.

This shood be apoll, but I prefere Dissection, maybe I like 1th and 2 end Entombed albums, but never leither, but Dissection all is good, even last was weeker, but still I prefere that band

I totally agree.

But to answer this question, I go with Dissection any day. I Like Entombed, but IMO they haven't released something nearly as great as Dissection's first two albums.

But to answer this question, I go with Dissection any day. I Like Entombed, but IMO they haven't released something nearly as great as Dissection's first two albums.

Not nearly as great?
For me Left Hand Path, Crawl and Clandestine are better then early Dissection.
Different tastes...

Pretty much this.... A more fitting band to compare with Dissection would be Sacramentum who play a similar style of Melodic Black/Death metal.

Or Watain, since they have been called "the new dissection" for a long time, for obvious reason.

Although Entombed are among the 10 greatest death metal bands of all time, I have to choose Dissection because of their unsurpassed originality and the atmosphere they succeed in creating. Sorry, Entombed, but Dissection are just better IMO.
