shit, hard decision, but im going with therion, even though the second disc of "gothic kabbalah" was kinda crap and dissapointing
Strange, everyone else has said the first disc was disappointing 
What makes you say this though? Why was the second disc disappointing?

really?
well, i thought the first disc stuck to the therion feel
but the second was sooo much different to any music made by music
it sorta leaned more towards power metal, mixed with viking, and the guys voice, it isnt that great alone on this disc
they dont really have the choir with them as much

In this battle if you mean which one performs the Symphonic music better, i would say Haggard, cuz Aziz Nasseri is is so talented in Classical music, and mixing metal and classical music...
but i like Therion more than Haggard in general.

My vote goes to the mighty Haggard, just because they are the better band mixing classical tunes with metal music... and also because Therion's music is too polished in the sound departement! Haggard is way better than Therion!

As the first post stated, Haggard is far supeior in music composition, so they get my vote. Although I really like Threion, and I highly respect them for being the first band to ever attempt "Symphonic Thrash Metal" I didnt even know that it was possible (lol S&M doesnt count) but after listening to one of their albums I was compleately amazed.

My vote goes to Haggard too. IMO they are much better musically than Therion and more unique either. Can't wait for their new album.

Haggard are ok, but i don't think anyone can compare them therion are the best in the buisness when it comes to symphonic metal

Therion music is power/heavy metal metal with sopranos and chorus. a band have to make something more than chorus and keyboard effects to be called as symphonic. for example they can make a symphonic compositions. (like the compositions in the classic period, like the ages that dvorak, mozart or bruckner lived in)

Old Therion it's superb but I don't like their new stuff very much....
Haggard it´s a great band but not very "metaller"

After listening the newer albums, i must correct myself. therion has really great sypmhonics. But still Haggard is the best i think

Therion without a doubt. Such masterpieces as Ho Drakon Ho Megas, Theli, Vovin, Deggial are almost impossible to match and Haggard are nothing more than OK...
