In Flames.. In Flames.. Chew a little on that name, taste it, swirl it around. What comes to your mind? Some have their mind set back in time, where the band was one of the big bands in the melodic death metal scene with highly acclaimed albums like Whoracle, Colony and Clayman. Others have accepted (or are bitter over) the new sound the band slowly, but surely adopted. And Siren Charms is not an exception.
And i was right, song's terrible! .. Anders vocals are awful!
I like the song, but anyways, Anders' vocals were always the worst part of this band. I also dig their last album a lot but the vocals were pretty bad there as well. I just learned how to ignore it.
The only vocals Anders ever did well were the gruff gutturals on Jester race and Whoracle (and the two EPs before Colony). He was passable on most other albums because the music was so good. Here there's nothing musically worth appreciating, and somehow all the unpleasant sounding qualities of his voice seem amplified.

Reroute To Remain was the last good performance by Anders, he wasn't too bad in Soundtrack to Your Escape though. SOAPF isn't bad it's not MDM but still a good album. But seriously can't ignore Anders' vocals in "Rusted Nail" ... He ruined the song which have some good riffs!

I really like his vocals on Come Clarity, I find his early death growls to just be dull.

That's weird, his vocals in The Jester Race were awesome no one can deny that. Nowadays he's just whining!
No, it's not, I'm a fan of alternative, not death metal. Generally I vastly prefer "whining" to death growls. I dig the higher pitched screams and cleans, they've got more feeling. I just like melodeath because of the melody. He certainly isn't the worst death metal vocalist I've ever heard, but he isn't the best either.
Checked out the one track from this album that Fredd posted. It's not that bad. Seems like decent alternative metal, and I'm okay with the vocals. Those with the expectations are understandably annoyed. For me, who've never really bothered to check out In Flames come in a clean slate and find it okay. At least it's not terrible

I fixed your link but you still accidentally a word.
Speaking of which, In Flames accidentally all of their talent.

Music is surprisingly not awful, on its own I'd probably give it about a 5 or 6 out of 10. You can expect a lot of melody because it's still In Flames but their songs are so formulaic and uninteresting, it's hard to digest the whole thing in one sitting without getting bored. The vocals get like a 3 though. Anders is awful. The production is terrible too.
