Meh, it's not as bad as people make it out to be. It's just bland and forgettable. Just like their last album. And the one before. And the one before that.

Thoughts:
-Collaboration with Fred Durst is most likely ... maybe a even a song featuring the clown from Slipknot ...
-Nothing like a bunch of middle-aged men wearing skater gear meant for 15-year-olds
-When Anders was doing that brooding mouth at the mic thing before he uttered the first vocal, I was kind of anticipating him to shout, "Give me fuel, give me fire..."
-At least he shaved off those nasty dreadlocks.

Astoundingly, confusingly awful. What happened? I loved these guys. Oh well, I guess I'll go back to listening to Dark Tranquillity.

Sure, they play different music with every album. I got over it. Call it what ever genre you want, this song isn't that bad. The intro is actually pretty good. The bad part comes with the vocals. Don't know what happened with Anders' vocal skills. Clean vocals were great on Come Clarity album, even on ASoP and SoaPF (which is really good album imo). But here, idk, clean vocals are horibble and screams have so much layers that just try to cover how bad they really sound. Maybe time for a new vocalist? And the distortion on guitars is really soft, but that has been the case on the last couple of albums. They should try to go to guitar sound like on Clayman, production on that album has some huge balls. But unfortunately it is what it is..

The more I listen to it, the more I think it's not SO afwul in the end. Oh, don't get me wrong, it's NOT good ! But hey A Sense Of Purpose was so bad that Sounds of A Playground Fading came as a good piece of news (except for Liberation, the only track that makes me wanna puke until all my guts lie on the floor). Now let's consider this track as a stand alone in the next album and let's hope the rest sounds like SOAPF.

Also, to all of you who wish they played the same music as they did 20 years ago : guess you're mostly youngsters because believe me when you turn 40 (like I am) you just CANNOT pretend you're still 20 Besides changes are not necesarily bad. Will check the other snipets from this album right now.

Yet, I agree, that bands like Dark Tranquillity, has never disappointed me...

Somehow I think we'll learn to accept our musical ineptitude.
