Was here (and on MSv2) a few times before. I remember Richard explaining it like Day-a-side. There was something about English and American too. Man, my memory sucks.

Well, here's the story. English, and most other areas pronounce it Day-i-side, like you've been saying. Deicide means the killing of a god, or 'deity' (day-i-ty). So that's where Day-i-side comes from. Americans though, as they like to be different and everything like to pronounce it like Dee-i-side (dee rhyming with pee). So that's the story

About Yngwie Malmsteen...In his official site...it says that it is pronounced: Ing-Vai...not Ing-Wee

Then I guess we'll have to take the site's word for it.

That is EXACTLY what I mean. The "ay" in "fayj" is how I represent the long "A" sound.

Yes, you pronounce it the same way you pronounce the number "two".

Now that I think about it I might have typed it wrong. The "a" sounds the same as it does in the words fag, bad, ect. The way I typed it kinda made it sound like ahhh instead of how it should sound. Man, I'm bad at explaining.

Well, I'd say it rhymes with garage. But make the second 'a' a bit longer.

Yes, it rhymes like garage. It's basically pronounced similarly to the dictionary word sabotage but the 'b' of course is substituted with a 'v'.

well you know we pronounce "Vlaad Tzepesh"(only really short "z",and a long,clean,and "latin" "a"-something like "aaah")

Nostradameus. I guess (!) that it would be like this:

Nos - Short 'o' like in 'nocturnal'.
stra - as in stratocaster, Stratovarius
da - long 'a', not short like in 'dad'
meus - make it rhyme to 'deus'. (Latin, means 'God')

Hope I'm correct and you get it..

My first thought when I read it was 'teen', but then again 'tine (wine)' makes sense too..
