Well I'm really interested how this one turns out. Hopefully they will take the best from the first two albums and add some new elements. And I hope it will lean towards the heavier side.

They said somewhere that it was going to be more "Heavy metal" than rock this time. Just have to wait and see.

Yeah they 'are' This album the vocals were done by Papa Emeritus III.

Soon there will be Papa Emeratus IV m you never know, we speak about this Papa more as about Pope Franzik today

I wonder how popular these guys would be if they came into the music scene w/o the gimmick.

I'm sure it has given them a lot of attention and thereby popularity, but people wouldn't listen to them if they didn't think they were good.

I really loved their debut, and liked their second album. I am very hyped for this because this band has incredible potential in my opinion to make amazing albums.

What we have here is Ghost's best opus yet. Markedly heavier than their previous efforts and ripe with a more sinister air. Overall less "poppy" and lighthearted. The band has evolved nicely into a doomier incarnation. "Mummy Dust" is the weakest track here, whereas "From the Pinnacle to the Pit," "Cirice," and "He Is" are a few of my favorites.

I can now say Ghost has become one of my favorite bands.

I wouldn't describe their last album as metal either. Haven't heard the new one yet but on the strength of the three pre-releases, it sounds as catchy as measles. Bring it on.

Well, their debut still had a smidgeon of metal in it. But you're right that the previous one also didn't have any metal in it. yes, the newest is as catchy as the measles and the plague and ebola combined.

Just tried, based on few singles, nothing special

How lame is this? Anyone with a slight inkling of metal knew right from the start it was and still is Mary Goore from Repugnant

Wasn't impressed on my first spin, and further ones didn't change much. I remember the band said it would be heavier than the previous, but if anything, it's even softer.
Overall quite disappointing, no trace of great melodies of Opus or the extreme catchiness of Infestissumam. Sure Cirice and (maybe) He Is are nice songs but hardly enough to make this above average.

Not as good as Opus Eponymous, but still pretty good.

Really strong record. The've found their sound and they're making good stuff. They've become one of those band that are doing special things in a new way of Metal.

I absolutly love this record. its really addicting

Sounds like a strong contender for biggest letdown at the next awards. Maybe they'll be like Delain and improve with album 4.

I thought you meant "most poopy album" at first

It's fine but the melodies are unbearably catchy and too easy on the ear to me. On a first listen you've heard and digested everything on it. The second half seems unnecessary after a few spins. The two final songs are anticlimactic (the album outro doesn't fit the mood either and results in an unsatisfactory album exit) and the two interludes are an unnecessary mess.

Definite disappointment, though there are some solid additions (esp. Cirice). I don't understand how the band can be satisfied with this record.

I think this summarizes very well my thoughts about this album, such a shame, I had huge expectations about it since I enjoyed their previous works, but this one doesn't feel as memorable as their debut.
Maybe they are trying to fit into a wider audience.

Well it is the same guy as I and II so his identity is known since the identity of those two has been common knowledge for years now

It was joke, same joke as Varoth posted on Herebeth review once well similar , time to use old examples to make newbies confused
