Probably each of us wanted to get some old album in good, modern production quality. But it's very rare cases when musicians are re-recording their old tracks, especially whole albums. This is just the case here. Maybe this is the only one I can remember. This album constitutes the first Ewigkeit album, fully rerecorded.

This brings us back to the black metal era of Ewigkeit. We've got more clean vocal parts, but it also became sometimes more black metalish as well. In the 1997 version, the vocals were recorded more in a death metal style. We've also got an improved sound of drums and a fatter guitar sound.

Ewigkeit can't be classified as only one style, although black metal here undoubtedly dominates. There are also elements of epic metal, as in the opening track, "Jewel Of My Empire". There are excellent elements of symphonic metal as well, such in "Gods Of Ages Awakened". There is also a beautiful atmospheric instrumental, "Kingdom Of The Clouds".

It's a great symphonic melodic black metal album with such masterpieces as "Jewel Of My Empire", "Christendom Falls", and "Keshara Arise". Doubtlessly there are no weak tracks in the album, especially with the new sound. In general, this has a variety of tempos, melodies, introductions and bridges performed very well. More surprisingly, this is a one-man band. Mr. Fogarty is a real talent.
