Is time for another oldie here, courtesy of yours truly, but wait, we're not talking about an ordinary oldie, this a rejuvenated oldie (yes, like those Star Wars movies).
This self-titled debut of Attika was released in 1988? in tape! Yes, it was one of those cassette releases, long way before the Cd gain popularity among the music industry. After that the band only released one Cd in 1993 called "When Heroes Fall", my sources say that it was a great Cd and it was praised by the media at the time.

Attika plays the classic stuff, a very primitive form of Heavy metal, reminiscent of Iron Maiden and Jag Panzer at the time, but with obvious differences, of course (differences that, of course made Iron Maiden and Jag Panzer establish themselves as great Heavy metal acts, and made Attika remain in the anonymity).
While the music is far from being bad, I have a problem with the vocalist, It's like he's trying to hard to pronounce every single word he sings, besides that the fact that he can't reach high notes, maybe in the 80's things were different but is obvious that when time passes quality standards become more rigid.

The whole sound of the band is very outdated, I don't recall any band playing THIS kind of heavy metal nowadays, even though that the sound is very dated, they did a pretty good job with the digital remastering, I would like to hear the original tape and compare. The album was remastered by Richard Ashman at MasterCraft studios.

Some songs are worth mentioning here, "The Motherlode", "Glory Bound", "When Cowards Die" and my favorite of all, the instrumental "Exiled". The Cd also contains 2 bonus tracks previously not available anywhere else.

This a Cd strictly for fans of classic Heavy Metal, and for fans of Attika of course. If you like that old raw Heavy Metal sound from the eighties, order this and take a walk down on memory lane.
