You won't believe me this, but here it goes, do you know this band Overlorde (I bet you never hear this name right?) is a cult band in Germany and Greece? And they've been around since 1985? And since then they only released 1 Ep and 3 Demos, ergo, this is their debut album, 19 years late, but hey! Better late than ever.

I can't understand why a band as cliché as this could reach cult status in the scene, various factors must be analyzed, they released demos in the 80´s that brings you immediately as a cult band, the split up sometime in the 90's and reunited in this century, that gotta count also.

Well, I don't care how cult this band is, is just cliché, Us Power Metal is something I've heard so much that I'm just sick of it, each riff, each scream, each solo, has been done before, and better.
Of course, that doesn't mean that this sucks, the band can play and they deliver one or two good songs, like "Hell Hath No Fury" and "Blackness", the rest of the album will please those kids that haven't heard much Power Metal, and still get some kicks by listening songs about giants, wizards and castles.

Production is not tight and crisp, although sounds good, the cover art is as cliché as the music, but I guess it works as a preview for the music inside.
So, summing up, Power Metal, US style, nothing new unless you're new to the genre, in that case, you might be entertained by this release, if you're not new to this, you know exactly what to expect from this.
Only one question remains, if this is the return of the snow giant? when did he came for the first time?
