Round two for these Greeks here at Metal Storm, since I reviewed their first Demo a while ago, now they're signed to Sleazsy Rider Records and they released this, their debut album "The Chains That Bind Us", let's see the improvements, in case here's any.

The band still plays a mix of Death Metal with Thrash Metal, which is pretty cool, but a bit overused nowadays, anyway, this guys know how to do their work. The 3 songs from the Demo appear on the album, re-recorded of course. Most of the songs are fast paced yet melodic, although songs like "Holy Instinct" and "Last Cal For Reaction" may remind you of some old school Death Metal bands, while songs like "Engaging Web" and "Message From Beyond" will please fans of Melodic Death Metal.

Still one things bothers me from the band, the vocalist, the vocals lie somewhere between a growl, grunt and scream, thing that gets really annoying after a few spins, and forces me to skip to the next song, only to encounter the same irritating screams/grunts.

As always the band choose a great artwork to grace their album, the whole chain design is awesome, good to know bands like this are giving importance to the way it looks besides the way it sounds.

So, bottom line, this is a band of all sorts, we have some Thrash songs, some Death ones and some more Old school, everything to keep fans pleased, sadly the vocals somewhat kills part of the experience. Definitively an improvement from their Demo, but not a memorable release.
