Scour - Gold

I haven't yet listened to any of their previous EP's but I can't say I'm particularly blown away by this release, I kinda expected more coming from such a well-esteemed group of talented musicians after all. It's powerful and frantic as hell and has a few eerie atmospheric interlaudes to break up it's relentless ferocity, but there aren't any moments that particularly stand-out for me as such. Maybe a grower though

I can’t deny how well written this is, but there’s a very strong feeling throughout that these musicians are capable of so much more within the confines of this particular style… as if they’re actively reigning themselves in to stay accessible. It’s sort of blends together and there’s no standout track, but it’s rather catchy which makes up the bulk of my enjoyment.

Its cool hearing phil doing music like this and it does sound decent but i feel like the EP format might be a better fit for the band

I did not like Phils BM vocals. Felt pretty generic album.

I love this album. Love the black metal riffs and the black death approach of the album.
