Nice come back to heaviness, nice ballad, maybe nicest from rock band in the 90's

Absolutely love this album!! One of the best releases from the band for sure (at least out of all of their 90s releases). I really enjoy the opener/title track ("Forever Free") and the slow song ("Iron Wheels"). I thought it was released in '92 though and not '93

Back to the good stuff. This is where they finally gave up the remnants of dying 80's pop metal and went back to the basics full force. And it's great, if not as good as their previous heavier stuff nor their later, more sophisticated style. You got to love the album cover, which is clearly inspired by Mexican national symbols.

Alright record, kind of boring at times but no disaster. The only song that really stands out is Iron Wheels though, Nighthunter and One Step Away are also pretty nice.

I have a special connection to this one. That´s why the below 7 rating hurts. Yes it was very Rock n Roll and had some slow songs but they are great! The mentioned connection is because this LP was one of my very first. Listened to it very often then and come back to it regularly. Faves: Forever Free, Hole In The Sky, Just Wanna Make Love To You, Get Down And Dirty, Iron Wheels (masterpiece song!), Can't Stop Rockin and Nighthunter
