A great discovery! When Matti Reinola (the bass player of Grayscale) contacted me, I wasn't waiting for such a great release. Honestly, I'm not a great fan of Finnish gothic metal but where the other bands fail to make good songs, Grayscale is managing to create hits such as the huge 'Squeeze' or the wonderful 'Shape In The Shadows'. For example, I don't like at all the band called To/Die/For but I really enjoy Grayscale! Maybe this is due to the heavy influences bring by the two guitars, added to the clear keyboards parts? So don't say, "hum well it's gothic metal so it must sound like..." No, no no. The songs are really well composed and some of them are angry for gothic! Read more ›› |
