Whether The Nexus is any good heavily depends on what you think of Amaranthe in general and how you approach the album itself, what you value in your music, etc. If you take different approaches to the album, you are going to reach different and somewhat contradicting conclusions. In a way, this album is an oxymoron.

Ok, 2013 must have been a difficult year for industrial/electronic metal if this album managed to win that award

Anyway, I have to admit The Nexus is turning into an instant-guilty pleasure... I know, I know, this is just pop, beefed up just enough to fit the "metal" label... but still, it's catchy as hell and ultimately enjoyable. After all, nice music is nice music

All of the songs except "Electroheart" and "Razorblade" just felt straight up inferior to songs on the S/T record, which was their only record I was familiar with and have listened to for ~7 years. I was disappointed, I had high hopes! I'm still interested in checking out the rest of the Amaranthe discography though!
