This free bandcamp release from Portugal is a combination of all the right parts of its influences. The visceral guitar work of Deathspell Omega mixed with a more emotive approach of many modern black metal groups and even a slight post-metal addition to the melodicism helps Tod Huetet Uebel conjure a seemingly unique identity while still sounding familiar in many ways. Crazy blackened something or other from Lisban. It's dense and intense. Despite the droning qualities, I was not bored. Lots of blastbeats and noisy riffs, howls croaks and screeches. And despite all of the berating qualities, I found this album oddly soothing. Kind of like listening to a thunderstorm outside the window. Stream and NAme Your Own Price HERE
