The World Is Quiet Here... supposedly; I can’t say that ‘quiet’ is a word that passed through my mind much while listening to Zon. This is probably the most ambitious album I’ve heard so far in 2023, and it may end up being the most ambitious one all year; after a dozen listens, I’m still pondering quite how fully Zon delivers on that ambition.

Didn't enjoy their debut, but this record has Lou Kelly on vocals...one of the few vocalists who can stand toe-to-toe with the likes of Mike Patton in terms of style variety. Whether or not he pulls off his full range here, I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little excited to hear this.

This was good, Writhing Gate was my favorite but the Heliacal Vessels tracks were nice too

As expected, Lou (Luke?) made this a delight. The instrumentation is also a step up from the debut, definitely more interesting and less "core". Still some jerky flow here and there, but I'd listen to this again, if only to hear the vocals one more time. Tad on the longer side though.

I do not deny the fact that this album is a very good sophomore effort... The only difference between TWIQH's debut release and this album is the change in vocal duty.... Probably I need more time to get used to Lou Kelly's vocal style, but I miss Tyler Koltz on vocals.
