There are some exceptions, but I generally like shorter albums more, too

I mean it's alright to see some 6/10 or 7/10 records nowadays with 50-60 minutes running time, but I miss those days where it wasn't rare to hear 9/10 or 10/10 35-40 minutes of pure songwriting mastery

That's understandable hardly anything is original. Once something new comes out their's 20 or 30 bands with that sound now a few months later. That kind of happens in any decade.
