I remember that the musician Jacques Brel, a rather left-winger, once said, "Put 11 idiots on one side, 10 philosophers on the other. The idiots will win. That's democracy." It sounds brutal, but it's also a part of the problem.
It's not about hating the people, it's about hating the fact they exist. When we say "eat the rich", we don't mean people who worked their way into what used to be the middle class. We're talking about billionaires.
@Roman Doez, you're generalizing the rich into big bad guys like in cartoons, I think. Since you've seen a few in power do shit to a lot of people, you allow yourself to hate them all, it's the same way of thinking as a racist.
@Roman Doez, I won't hate the rich, because a part of them have acquired their wealth, by working hard, while coming from a pour family. The main people to blame for what is happening are ourselves, for having elected wrong people
In France alone, during the revolution, people didn't like the Bretons and the Vendéens, then it was enemy countries during the Napoleonic wars, then Polish and Italian immigrants, then Algerian immigrants, etc.
