In autumn 2009, in parallel with her activities in the conventional theatre, Akane Liv formed the symphonic metal band Liv Moon. Their live debut at Loud Park 09, one of the largest heavy metal festivals in Japan, received rave reviews. The major debut album Double Moon was released in December the same year via Victor Entertainment, and obtained high ratings from various quarters.

After a successful first one-man live at Shibuya O-East in March 2010, the band released the cover album Covers ~Scream As A Woman~ in June, and conducted a one-man tour in Tokyo and Osaka in October. Liv Moon released its long-awaited 2nd album Golden Moon in March 2011, then played a second one-man live at Shibuya O-East with great success. This concert was filmed and released as the live DVD Liv Moon Club Show 2011: Golden Moon ～月華月虹～ in June.

3rd album Symphonic Moon was released on January 18 2012. On March 3rd & 4th, Liv Moon played two consecutive one-man lives at Ebisu Liquid Room.
