Newsted was formed by infamous ex-Metallica bassist Jason Newsted at the end of 2012 with guitarist Jessie Farnsworth and drummer Jesus Mendez Jr. The band immediately recorded and released 4 track EP titled Metal on January 8, 2013. The band was later joined by Mike Mushok (Staind) in March 2013.
