Eric Clayton, Saviour Machine's frontman, posted an statement regarding an unauthorized release by MCM Music & Massacre Records:
"MCM Music & Massacre Records have manufactured / released a "version of III:II."This "version" is more "a compilation" of what I consider to be "random out takes & demo recordings" from 2004... This CD is grossly incomplete & misrepresentative of what "III:II" actually sounds like today. What I can deduce from actually hearing this CD, is the following... MCM and / or Massacre Records decided to hire a few very bad "engineers" to go through hundreds of takes from the recordings I did in Sweden - Spring 2004. These "unknown engineers" chose some takes, tried to put something together and attempted to "mix" something out of it... basically, the recordings from 2004 have evolved into demo recordings, as far as I am concerned. Since those sessions, I have re-recorded almost everything... I have spent more than 7,000 hours recording, choosing final takes, editing, etc, etc... This CD is not "III:II"
...
"Massacre and MCM "produced" this CD without my authorization, my consent or my involvement... To call this release a SM "album" is a crime against the consumer... their attempts to advertise this CD as the actual "Legend Part III:II" is criminal! It's a gross "injustice" to the actual production"
...
Then he explains that Legend Part III was not supposed to be divided in the first time, and that it will be release as a whole, he finalizes with the following:
""Legend Part III" - The Official Release will contain 3 full length CD's: (Disc 1 - formerly known as "III:I" / Disc 2 & Disc 3 - the long anticipated "III:II") Yes... This is real! ; ) Don't ask when it will be finished... I have absolutely no idea? ; ) But... I can tell you this... As you probably know by now, SM is currently performing (and in the process of booking) a number of intimate acoustic shows. Though we'd "hoped" for more concerts in 2011... due to a number of factors, the majority of these rare performances will be booked in 2012... SM is performing for a wide range of "reasons;" many/most of these reasons are very intimate, personal, Spiritual reasons... One of our objectives is to generate enough revenue to resume and complete the production of "Legend Part III!" Currently... the line-up intact is the single greatest "incarnation" of Saviour Machine ever!!! We are the closest band we've ever been... We'll continue to "build upon" this intimacy, we will continue to gain strength, generate income, and together... as a band... we will resume & complete the production of Legend Part III

"Hello friends....well....the past 6 months have been a very productive yet frustrating time due to several minor and sometimes MAJOR production delays....a great deal has transpired....I will do my best to fill you in: "Phase 2" of recording was completed as scheduled at the end of May! The recording sessions in Sweden of the guitars, drums and lead vocals went very well....It was an intense, creative time....I am extremely pleased with the final tracking results! The Choral recording in Germany went VERY well also....these are BY FAR the best sounding choir recordings we've had! That was the good news! ; ) Here's where the "little" problems start....Upon my return from Europe at the beginning of June, I'd planned to take a few weeks off to rest and spend some quality time with my family....all the recorded material from Sweden and Germany would be transferred to DVD's and mailed to me within a few weeks....I'd "conceivably" start up production again in late June....well....unfortunately, some technical issues delayed the process and I didn't end up getting all the recorded material until mid-July! Ok....ready to start working again, right? Wrong....MAJOR computer issues then delayed the production another 4 weeks....finally, after purchasing and setting up an entirely new operating system, all issues were resolved and I was able to begin working on the production again in Mid/Late August....After spending a few days combining the recorded material from Europe with all the recorded material from the US (VERY boring, technical work ; ) I then began the grueling process of FINAL editing of all recorded material! Upon completion of final editing in late September, I began what has become my LEAST favorite part of production....EDITING VOCALS! Anyone who has ever worked with me, knows that I'm "a bit" meticulous when it comes to recording vocals....I've been known to record an ABSURD amount of vocal takes per song, per phrase, per line and even per word on occasion! ; ) So....to make a long (probably boring story ; ) short....I've spent the past 10 weeks editing 100's upon 100's of vocal takes....I assure you...I'm not exaggerating....several HUNDREDS of vocal tracks....what was I thinking? ; ) This process has inevitably become "Phase 2 1/2" of recording production and has delayed "Phase 3" (recording Bass, Piano and spoken dialog) by a few months....based on my current progress, (about 1/2 complete) I hope to complete ALL vocal editing by the end of January....Prayers are welcome! ; ) For anyone interested...(this is NOT at all intended to be a "sob-story" ; ) the amount of work on the production of this final SM album has now FAR surpassed the the amount of work that went into LPI, II and III:I combined! It does sometimes feel as if I'm producing 10 SM albums at the same time and I'd be lying if I said that the work never becomes a bit overwhelming.... BUT, in the end.... focus perseveres, progress continues and Faith endures! In closing, I will offer all of you my deepest apologies for any "false hope" I may have given you for a potential Fall 2004 release date....I will not allow myself to "project" a release date again....what I can do is assure you that I will continue to work as "diligently" as possible and I will promise you again (as I have from the beginning) that this album WILL be well worth the wait!!!!!!! Your patience and support is GREATLY appreciated! TCGB...."

Hello friends....I know this LONG overdue....I thank you for your patience!
So, here's an attempt to update you on the progress of Legend Part III:II....
After 3 years of a grueling "pre-production" process and a 6 month sabbatical to produce "LID2002," the principal recording of Legend Part III:II finally began last October here in California! The past 6 months have been "interesting" to say the least! ; ) Joshua and I began the process of recording all midi based material on October 15th....our production schedule was based on a 60 day recording plan....ALL orchestral-percussion programming/FX/samples/segues would be recorded over a 60 day production
schedule ("phase 1" of recording). 60 days = 2 months....right? Well, not
really....not if you are only able to work together on the weekends due to
numerous "other" responsibilities and work schedules during the week....
60 days now = 6 months....just do the math! ; )
After our first weekend of production in mid October, our second weekend had
to be canceled abruptly due to the California fires which broke out that week!
The enormous Waterman Canyon fire which devastated and consumed over
1000 homes, burned within less than 200 yards of the studio....the entire area
was evacuated....needles to say, we nearly lost the production before it ever
really got started....fortunately, that was NOT the case and we were able to
resume production a few weeks later....how's that for "dodging an arrow?" ; )
As scheduled, after six months we have completed "phase 1" of recording and
we're gearing up for "phase 2" which begins next Saturday (May 1st) in Sweden!
Providing that my plane does not plummet into the Atlantic Ocean, ; ) I will arrive
in Sweden next Friday (April 30th). That evening, I will perform a few songs on
stage with Narnia, return with CJG to his home and most likely, drop dead from
from exhaustion due to the fact that I will have probably been awake for nearly
36 hours at that point! ; ) "Phase 2" of recording will begin the following day....
"Phase 2" will be the most intense, the most elaborate and most crucial part of
the recording for this album....your prayers are VERY welcome! ; ) During my
3 1/2 weeks in Sweden, we will be recording drums, guitars and lead vocals!
On May 27th, I will fly from Sweden to Germany in order to record the choral
arrangements in Wurzburg before returning home to California on May 31st!
