A few months ago, Vertigo Steps announced that they were putting the band on hold and stop all activities until further notice. However, the progressive metal band is giving fans something new to enjoy first. The band shared the brand new, advance track from their upcoming compilation Disappear Here In The Reel World: A VS Coda, to be released in January 2014 via Ethereal Sound Works. The song is called "Sunflowers/Remission". Waste no time and listen to it in the video below. What else could you ask for?

Surface/Light, the new album from Portuguese dark progressive metallers Vertigo Steps is currently streaming online in its entirety at their Bandcamp page. The album will be released on April 30th through the band's new label Ethereal Sound Works. Before that, the band is releasing today the first single Sublight, which includes three songs from the new album and three videos. Portuguese progressive metallers Vertigo Steps have released a 12 minute teaser with excerpts from every song to be featured on their upcoming new album Surface/Light, penned for a 2012 release. You can now listen to it below. More album details were reported here.
The band announced it in the following statement: "Vertigo Steps are proud to announce the conclusion of 3rd opus Surface/Light, considering it to be the pinnacle and defining point as a band with '13 heavy rock songs steeped in raw emotion, soaring melancholy and cinematic grandeur'. Recordings took place at UltraSound Studios (Moita), starting in late September, with Daniel Cardoso (producer), also responsible for drums and bass. Details on a 2012 release date will be known when available."

Moreover, the band announced the guest participation of Patrik Karlsson in the song "The Porcupine Dilemma" and they will also be covering the song "Nothing At All", originally released by Rob Dougan.
The Melancholy Hour's follow-up will be the third studio album of the band and is set to be released some time next year.
