Riverside - To Release DVD Next Month

Progressive rock band Riverside will release Reality Dream, their first ever DVD, on 11th January 2010 (in US on 23rd February) and not in early December as it was previously announced. The release date was postponed due to technical problems that occurred at the pressing company.

In May 2008, the band went on a mini-tour across Poland. The most significant date of the tour was May, 17th when Riverside played a special, over-two-hour gig in Łódź. The show was treated as a summary of the "Reality Dream Trilogy" (Out Of Myself - 2003, Second Life Syndrome - 2005 and Rapid Eye Movement - 2007). The concert was recorded and, so far, it was available in a limited audio only edition during their "Reality Dream Tour" in December 2008. Today, the fans of Riverside have a chance to see that special performance in its full glory as it is released as a double DVD. Apart from the complete performance in Łódź, Reality Dream DVD also includes a selection of live performances in various places around the world, including Canada, Germany and Holland, plus a documentary "Behind the Curtain - A film by John Vis" and a photo gallery.

Riverside - Frontman Releases Solo Album

Mariusz Duda, Riverside's singer and bass player, together with fellow musicians, has just finished working on his solo album, "Lunatic Soul." The release date has been set for October 13th, 2008. The album will be released on the British label Snapper Music, more specifically - Kscope, known for having released the earlier albums of Porcupine Tree, and presently producing Anathema and No-Man. In Poland on Mystic Production. On the "Lunatic Soul" album you will find 10 atmospheric tracks making up 47 minutes of music.

Mariusz Duda: "I touched upon a vital subject on this record, namely... death. What came out of this was a conceptual journey to the world beyond full of reflections on transience and all we may want to leave after we pass (if we want to leave anything). In the sphere of music, it will be intriguing. I would call those sounds oriental-alternative, not really having anything in common with progressive rock. An interesting fact is that there is no electric guitar here at all."

You can listen to some fragments of "Lunatic Soul" music at http://www.myspace.com/lunaticsoulband.
