Well, I'm glad we are resorting to sexism after Metal Storm reported [sic] one side of the story.

The other side is that she quit the band because one of the members, Paul, was being manipulative and she didn't not feel safe being on tour with him. You can go to Metal Sucks or various other sites that published this story earlier today to get both sides. But, if this is a situation where someone was being abused, I think the sexist comments are a little inappropriate.

"Own Hapiness" = Doesn't agree with the band, definately not a good reason to walk out 24 hour before your US tour starts.. Also, "Treating me bad" pretty vague term, chances are she's the one blowing this out of preportion.

Band is over either way, most people that care about them only do because they had a girl singer. Now that she's gone, they'll probably fade into obscurity, which is a shame because the music is really good. Some of the most memorable brutal death metal for sure.

Well this sucks, she was pretty good and quite brutal. I don't think the band will fade into obscurity either, sure having a female vocalist was a bit of a novelty but their music is still really good. Would be kinda kool if Shawn Whitaker was asked to stay, then they would most definitely not fade into obscurity. Man as sad as that is I'd still like to see them play with Shawn Whitaker.

Sounds to me like they might have been dating and she didn't feel comfortable touring with an ex from a seemingly bad relationship. If she truly did feel threatened by him then I say good for her for caring more about her own comfort and safety than staying in a bad situation out of fear or greed.

Personally the vocalist does not matter to me in brutal death, its the instrumental work that is most important. If it was the type of music with very varied and very distinguishable vocals then it would matter. I'm sure Shawn Whitaker will do a fine job, perhaps he could join the band too. He would bring a load of great ideas to the music aside from vocals because as we know he is a skilled guitarist.

Well fuck... Hopefully all goes well for Som and the rest of the band. I'm glad they were able to find a replacement on such short notice, but it sounds like Som probably had a good reason to leave.
