There is a potentially interesting new project called The Gentle Storm which joins singer Anneke Van Giersbergen (ex-The Gathering, Anneke Van Giersbergen, Devin Townsend) and multi-instrumentalist Arjen Anthony Lucassen (Ayreon, Arjen Anthony Lucassen, Star One). The duo just revealed the cover artwork that will grace their debut album. The album, we know now, is titled The Diary and the image was made by Alexandra V. Bach. You will find out more about the concept soon but for now you can take a look at the cover.




Arjen said of the cover: "I loved the front cover of the last Stream Of Passion album, so I tracked down the cover artist, Alexandra V. Bach. I sent her some samples of the The Gentle Storm music, and explained the album concept. She made a moodboard that captured the feel of the story and the music. We then gave her the go-ahead to design the cover. She did an amazing job that exceeded our expectations: Alexandra's cover art represents The Gentle Storm perfectly!"

The Gentle Storm's concept album will be a double CD, with the same songs on each CD but in very different, contrasting arrangements. CD1 will be all acoustic and folky with lots of exotic instruments while CD2 will be a "bombastic orchestral metal album" with plenty of progressive elements mixed in as well. The album will be out in early 2015 through InsideOut Music.
