Ayreon have released a lyric video for their new track "Star Of Sirrah". The song features on their new album, The Source, which will launch on April 28th, via Mascot Label Group/Musical Theories Recordings. "Star Of Sirrah" features a range of guest singers, including Dream Theater's frontman James LaBrie, Nightwish singer Floor Jansen and Between The Buried And Me's Tommy Rogers. You can watch the new song below.

Ayreon leader, Arjen Lucassen, says: "Here's the second lyric video from The Source. It's one of my favourite tracks on the album, the huge epic 'Star Of Sirrah'. It features James LaBrie, Russell Allen, Hansi Kürsch, Tobias Sammet, Nils K Rue, Tommy Rogers, Michael Eriksen, Floor Jansen and an amazing guitar solo by Paul Gilbert. Made by Wayne Joyner, I hope you enjoy it!"

You can pre-order The Source here.

This is just so painfully average, the opening chord progression doesn't work at all for me, it sounds too "sweet" for lack of a better word. The heavy guitar parts are somewhat enjoyable, but its just soooo similar to a lot of Arjen's previous work with Star One. Everything starting with the chorus is just plain boring. If this is one of the best songs on the album, then I think I might just skip this album altogether.

Utterly predictable, boring, terrible. I don't think I will bother with the new album at all.

I really expect much more from Ayreon. This one is just an average plain and predictable song.

At this rate I run the risk of hearing the entire album via stream before I ever get my preordered cd.

Don't understand the lackluster reaction to this, I liked it!

Glad for you! I wish I could like it, but it is just so boring and predictable. I think that's the reason why me and others, who might have enjoyed previous Ayreon releases are unimpressed with this. I like Arjen, I mean I REALLY like him, he is a great guy and a great musician, but I think he has become complacent. I think he just enjoys bringing loads of artists together and creating concept albums so much now that he neglects the process of careful songwriting. Heck, even The Theory Of Everything, small-minded and unoriginal as it was, made me feel things, had me misty-eyed at points. The tracks released from this album so far have left me disappointed in every possible, no interesting musical ideas, no emotional grip.

This might not be the best Ayreon song, but I find it quite enjoyable in spite of what most of the comments says. I also really liked everybody dies and I found the day that the wold breaks down a masterpice. So I am looking forward to the album (or the next posted song).

It's a pretty average Ayreon song, but I'm still looking forward to the entire album experience.

This song is really disappointing. I enjoyed previous two, but there is little much interesting in this one

I really enjoyed the first two tracks they released but I agree with everyone here, this song is just a plain average. Still looking forward to the albom as a whole though.

Really enjoyed the last two songs, but expecting the worst for this after reading these comments...

It's predictable and pretty simple, but am pleasantly surprised. I like it!
