Sirenia - Unleash Second Single From Upcoming Record

Symphonic metal outfit Sirenia recently announced the release of their upcoming tenth studio album, Riddles, Ruins & Revelations, due out February 12, 2021 via Napalm Records. Today, they present a visualizer for the second streaming single "We Come To Ruins".

Morten Veland about "We Come To Ruins": "We Come To Ruins" is the second single from our upcoming album. This song shows Sirenia from a heavier side, although it is a very dynamic song with many changes in both atmosphere and intensity. It is probably a more "typical" Sirenia song than our first single, but still with a modern approach."

He adds regarding the album: "Riddles, Ruins & Revelations is Sirenia's tenth studio album. The album is very diverse, as a Sirenia album should be. There's a lot of material that shows the band from a new side, and there is lots of material that is to be expected from the band musically. All in all, the album will take listeners through a journey that will cover both familiar and unexplored musical landscapes. We hope that you will enjoy the journey."

I was not expecting much after the first single (which is terrible) but damn this song is surprisingly decent!
Something sounds really off with the production though - why does it sound like the drums are underwater?

I guess it is because of the more electronic approach they took. Maybe coupled with the fact that audio quality tends to be lowered when a song is uploaded on YT. Doesn't sound too unusual. Still, the track is unexceptional. A bit better than the first single, but nothing special.

Well the mixing and mastering was done by Veland himself because of covid crisis and in one newest interview with Emma she told that recordings of choirs were cancelled because of covid as well so I expect reduced presence of choirs on this album (two singles already confirmed that)
