Main verse sounds a lot like Shooting Star ... I agree that this album is going to be their weakest and by far. Nothing brilliant has been released yet. Another World is good but other than that it's really meh

Sounds like shooting star, the chanting feels like a lame knock-off of slower SOAD passages as well. My expectations weren't particularly high after Magma, but ooof... That one was boring and lacked good songs, but this record might shape up to be even more so? What they needed was to evolve that record a bit further, or go back to the roots completely. Out of all the singles, I liked 1. Out of 5 singles. Wow.

It's pretty clear at this point that the only two people who like all five already released tracks are Gikhar Wizard and I. Nearly half the album is out now and I think we are going to have something interesting in our hands.

yeah it gets very little love it seems
people have to wait and listen to the whole album I think , maybe they would like it in the context of the album

I really like the first three songs, I'm just waiting for the album to drop to hear the rest.

I liked the first 4, with Born For One Thing being a particular favorite for me so far. This particular song seems kinda weak, but not in a "This is terrible" kind of way. The track just doesn't fit the "Single" mold very well and its strange that they're presenting it that way. The song would be fine on the album as a slower, atmospheric break between some of the heavier tracks.

There is a music video for this song to be released on Friday, the same day as the album being released. Exciting!

You can count me in too. Gojira's lowest level is still higher than most other bands. Magma has the lowest score here on MS and it still has a 7,9. That says quite a lot in my book.

Regarding the songs, Another World could easily be mistaken for a L'Enfant Sauvage song, Amazonia has really nice Sepultura vibes, Born For One Thing has some really interesting rhythm changes and drum patterns and Into The Storm has great lyrics and probably the best drumming of the songs released so far. The Chant is obviously slower than the other four and they put it as track 7 out of 11 which hopefully means that it's meant to be a breather for the heaviest tracks at the end of the album. I'd like to think that there's a reason why they put a song called Grind last.

I thought 7.9 was low for magma ... should be around 8.2 IMO but ratings are subjective anyways
yeah Grind is one of the heavier ones and I heard Sphinx was the heaviest and it's after The Chant

Sure, that maybe true. Hopefully it all comes together when the full album is released, and some of the songs that at least to me sound uninspired, in the context of the album, will come it to their own
