Star One - Streaming New Single
Arjen Lucassen is back with a new Star One album titled Revel In Time, due out on Feb 18th, 2022. Now, Arjen is pleased to share the third single and video for "Prescient", featuring special guests Micheal Mills (Toehider) and Ross Jennings (Haken).
Arjen has this to say about the track: "For me this is the most varied Star One album so far, every track has a totally different feel. The first single, Lost Children of the Universe, is a big epic track; the second single, Fate of Man, is a fast metal track, and Prescient is definitely the most proggy on the album. With the video we tried to capture that vintage black and white Twilight Zone feel with a touch of David Lynch!"

Just a bad song left off from one of Ayreon's terrible role-playing wankfests that nowadays pass for Ayreon's albums. I wish Mr Lucassen would take a pill for his composer diarrhea and focus on one project, and then would take another pill for bloat and pretentiousness.

John I like prog rock to, but I can't get this and Lucasen projects. I try catch new prog rock, Ivor bands, classic. Sometimes I do listen it, but can't stand few bands as this, riverside and DT

I love some of the old Ayreon albums (both Migrators and the binary code title, you know which one I mean), so it's not like I'm slagging off a band I don't listen to.

So much stuff that goes nowhere, and doesn"t really come from anywhere either this is more of a mashup of parts of songs without any connecting songwriting than one coherent thing, almost like flipping through radio channels right from the start, where it begins with 2 intros right after each other, first the clock rhythms, quite cool, a buildup to something, instead just ends and doesn"t ever get referenced again, then the keyboard intro, good melody, but doesn"t return for variations, instead just becomes the chorus melody at the end, unchanged and fecktons of filler in between

I haven't enjoyed Aryeon since 01011001. This isn't so bad though, much better than anything else I've heard from the band since then. Oh wait, this is Star One? wtf? I guess the line between the two bands is just a blur at this point.
