On April 11th 2025, Italian death metallers Sonum will unleash their sophomore full-length dubbed The Obscure Light Awaits. The latter is comprised of 10 new tracks, which were recorded and mixed by Luca Dal Lago in Vicenza, Italy. The band comments about their comeback and the new record:

"The (r)evolution of Sonum to a three-piece band had a relevant reflection in our artistic equilibrium and obviously in our composition process, and this radical change took shape in this new full-length album. Our intent was to guide the listener into a musical labyrinth, where the dimensions of the inner universe dissolve into dystopian realities painted with anguish, despair, melancholy & rage: chaotic atmospheres intertwined with ethereal interludes, dissonances collide with compelling melodies…and lethal lyrics are unleashed by a new voice behind the microphone, to crown a constantly evolving musical approach."
