Blood Monolith – the Washington DC/Northern Virginia area death metal "supergroup", featuring members from bands such as Nails, Ulthar, Undeath, and Genocide Pact – are streaming their newly released debut album, The Calling Of Fire, in full on the Profound Lore Records YouTube channel. Blood Monolith was established in 2023 by guitarist/vocalist Shelby Lermo (Nails, Ulthar) after his departure from Vastum. He was joined by guitarist Tommy Wall (Undeath), bassist Nolan (Genocide Pact, Shitstorm), and drummer Aidan Tydings-Lynch (Deliriant Nerve, Brain Tourniquet).
The Calling Of Fire, released on May 16 2025, was engineered and mixed by Shelby Lermo and Matt Michel (Goetia, Left Cross, Antichrist Siege Machine), mastered by Adam Tucker at Signaturetone Recordings (Ulthar, Maul, Obsequiae), and features cover art by Nick Blinko, the frontman of Rudimentary Peni.
