Although Sepultura are currently in the middle of a final world tour, bassist Paulo Jr. revealed in a recent interview on 'The David Ellefson Show' podcast that the band have recorded some new material with new drummer Greyson Nekrutman, who replaced longtime drummer Eloy Casagrande last year. The news of new music from Sepultura comes nine months after it was announced that a new EP was on the way.

Regarding the addition of Greyson Nekrutman, Paulo Jr. said: "Greyson, he is a great guy. He has a very jazzy, totally different approach. I'm still adapting, learning with him day by day. Eloy was in the band for 13 years. It took me a while to really lock up with him. The easiest one, of course, was Igor, 'cause we grew up together. And then the other ones, I had to readapt, and even the way of playing, just to make Sepultura sound right. Each one is very unique and has their own particularities. That's why it's so nice."

As for new music from Sepultura, he stated: "We've done some new recording with Greyson, and it sounds amazing. [It's a] totally different approach, and it was, like, 'Don't try to be that much metal. Just be yourself. Be a jazz player. Try to bring into the metal your own style and you're gonna fly high, dude.' 'Cause he's amazing."

Not that I'm looking forward to have some spark in it, but yes let it come.

Even though I prefer mostly the Max Cavalera days, the last two Sepultura albums were not bad and so I might check out the new music they're working on with Greyson Nekrutman.

Same here; I actually loved the last two albums. I also think Eloy was a beast, so I am wondering how they will sound without him. In my opinion, he was the one that put them on the map again.

Not to ignore how important Igor's contribution to the band was, but I agree with your opinion about Eloy.
