In a recent interview with 'Todo Mundo Em Campo', Masterplan guitarist and leader Roland Grapow shared an update on their upcoming studio album Metalmorphosis. The latter is expected to be released sometime in 2026 through Frontiers Music Srl. Exact details have not yet been revealed.

Roland commented: "It’s already finished. It was quite a long process, and I think we started creating it about five years ago. My idea was to make a more direct and less progressive album, but not too melodic. I love melodies, but I don’t like stuff that’s too pop and commercial. That’s why the album is called Metalmorphosis. So we've veered towards a more metal sound, which Masterplan has never had. Who knows? We’ve still kept certain progressive and mid-tempo elements, but in a way, I think this album is more immediate. I didn’t want to compromise, and maybe the next album will be even heavier. You never know. It depends on how people react. It’s a natural process, because you can’t keep repeating yourself, and I’m not that kind of musician."

Love Roland and Masterplan, but I don't think I'll ever be able to look past how awful their new singer sounds.

Agreed, DiMeo was a good pick but Altzi never worked neither for Thunderstone, nor for Masterplan

Without Jorn they are a shadow of what they formally were. Even when some of the songs fell flat Jorn just carried it.
