Decapitated has issued a brief statement on the band's MySpace, including an update on singer Adrian "Covan" Kowanek, who continues to recover from the October 2007 vehicle accident that claimed the life of Decapitated drummer Vitek Kieltyka:
"For the people who are sending messages and friend requests... Unfortunately, we are unable to respond to each and every person due to the overwhelming response followed by the tragic events of last October. The friends and families of Covan and Vitek will do their best in keeping you up to date with news on Decapitated and everything pertaining to the Vitek and Covan Charity Fund. The auction and tribute shirts have been temporarily delayed - but they are still in the works and should be up and running in the near future.
We are also waiting on a statement from Covan's family about his current condition. As far as we know, he is stable and on his way to a full recovery. We have high hopes for the future.
Thanks again to everyone for your amazing show of support. It really means the world to us. Please check back for updates."
UPDATE
The family of Adrian "Covan" Kowanek posted the following short update on the singer's condition:
"Adrian is during a long and hard recovery but his state is getting a little and slowly better. Adrian's family would like to thank fans and all the people for their support, donations, patience and faith."

Good news, now there wont be RIP Covan notes posted everywhere, and not every kid on the planet will suddenly become a Decapitated fan.

Good news about Covan. Hopefully he'll be able to perform again... I wonder what the future will be for him and Vogg... Maybe they can start a new band together.... or even remain as Decapitated, but to me, it wont be Decapitated without Vitek. Whatever happens, good luck to them.

Maybe still recovering , but when Vogg speak about Decapitated he explained that he will record the next album with the new members http://vueweekly.com/music/story/building_a_rapport/ And he also didn't mentionned about Covan so...???
