Band Profiles: Report Mistakes

I think it would be more correct to say that Dark Tranquility is Melodic Death Metal. Gothenburg is a place so it don't defines well the sound of the band.

Gothenburg is also a style, and a well defined one with a (more or less) clear distinction to melodic death.

In the discography of the band Envy (http://www.metalstorm.net/bands/discography.php?band_id=987&bandname=Envy), the "Despair" demo of 2003 should be removed, since it's not from the same band:

this demo is of a Finnish band which changed name to Trespassenger in 2007 http://www.metal-archives.com/index.php

even if the page was at first created for that Finnish band (which, in my opinion, is a bit useless since they changed name) it had been edited as if for the Japanese band (I myself took part in that editing, since I didn't realize there were several Envy bands)

The associated review was published in 2004 when they were still known as Envy, that's why the profile was named Envy when the switch to MSv3 automatically created profiles for all reviewed bands. Anyway, I've created a new profile for Trespassenger and moved the demo and the review to the new profile.

Avenged Sevenfold's genre is listed simply as "1999 - Metalcore" Although I know most staff members won't care, but they haven't played metalcore since 2003's Waking the Fallen. It should be changed to "1999-2004 Metalcore 2005- Heavy Metal" Try not to let all of your glowing egos and biases get in the way of this one.

Just because we don't necessarily think a band is good (although I can't speak for the entire Staff) doesn't mean we overlook them in our database. We try to be as objective and accurate as possible in regards to featured bands. One's personal taste shouldn't interfere with the integrity of their edits.
