Monthly Video Wrap-Up: May, 2011

Welcome to our new feature - the monthly video wrap-up! Instead of trying to find the greatest metal videos ever, we thought it would be kind of neat to gather a handful of videos we've had sent to us by various bands & labels, and post them without discrimination. Some may be awesome, some may be garbage, some famous, some not. It's free entertainment, either way.

Here's some of the new music videos that came out this past month. Enjoy.

The Human Abstract. Yes. Reminds me that we have two smilies for headbanging, why not one for the booty shake?

Absolutely. I'm compiling the June edition (to come out early July) all month, so feel free to toss any June recommendations my way.

This is a really nice feature.. and very handy! (since I always miss the news of unknown bands for me). Havok sounds really nice.

Alright I only watched 2 (3 if you count fast forwarding to the Treal TV Human Abstract video) of these. InFlames' video was absolutely TERRIBLE. They're essentially dead to me now, as they basically have been for the better part of a decade.

Havok on the other hand, was fucking tremendous. The gratuitous amounts of fire and man sized bass playing (even though it was barely heard) scores points in my book.

And aside from the music, it's good to see MS adding new features. Moving up in the world! Well done!

Just kidding, just watched the Arkona video. I always appreciate dudes fighting and the band using woodwind instruments. They win too.

The Red Shore got me by the balls. Good stuff, that one song. Sadly, the rest of the album quickly gets boring. They could use a bit of variation (the latest album sounds just like a showcasing of technique).

In Flames, I haven't heard anything from since Soundtrack To Your Escape. That new song there has a really nice verse. But I'm still scrambling on the floor trying to find the last of my intestines, which I accidentaly barfed up during the chorus. It sounds like Backstreet Boys struggling to lay down a rock attitude to try and stage a comeback (Actually, I thought the pre-chorus was the acutal chorus and thought "wow, that's bad" - then the real thing hit... oh my).
