'Stand Up' evidently has more of a 'rockier' tone to its sound than on 'This was', though the use of the flute is here in spades, and used wisely to intervene with the flow of the other instruments. The album may sound slightly outdated (it is indeed over 40 years old), but you can see that the band were just beginning their journey into progressive rock territory.

Could be me fav 'Tull album for the simple reason that these all are excellent songs. Also Anderson's vocals sound fantastic here rather than kind of silly like on some of their later albums. Simply put: AMAZING stuff.

When I think about JT, songs like Nothing Is Easy, We Used To Know and For a Thousand Mothers (.. and obviously Bouree) come first to my mind. Pretty much unforgettable songs.
