Amongst the many politically incorrect and absurd rants bellowed throughout Agorapocalypse is one little nugget that perfectly encapsulates the idea behind this album. Said line is '...no purpose in being offensive', which appears in "Question Of Integrity". Indeed, Agoraphobic Nosebleed in the past sounded much like unleashing a spastic raccoon on a drum machine; however, Agorapocalypse sees the band exploring groove and memorable riffage instead.

I have no idea what the heck I just listened, but that was pretty excellent.
Also, kudos to the drum machine. Contrary to most people, I like drum machines more than human drummers.
Now, I'm going to "heal" my ears with lighter music.

In contrary to most people, I like drum machine more than human machine.

You mean that as in general or what?

To me it depends on the concept. Industrial metal usually gets extra points for the artificial sound working perfectly for the style.
In this case the drums are so good because they actually sound human. I usually don't care that much because most of the bands I've heard with drum machines usually don't do complicated drums at all so you don't even notice. More complicated stuff a la Ulcerate or Deathspell Omega... I just couldn't picture it

yes, I think in general I prefer drum machine, or at least love it. The punching sound of drum machine suits me better. Just figured out that out of seven 10s I've given in this site, 3 albums feature this instrument (godflesh, phobos and BaN).
To be more specific, I think most people, when hearing that an album features drum machine, think that it's going to suck before listening to that album. I will go for exact opposite of this.
Also, no doubt that there are many great drummers.I also cannot imagine death, tool, ulcerate and nile with drum machine. All in all, I think drummers are better for intricate drumming and drum machine is preferable in other cases.

Well, that's basically my take on this. I wouldn't say I prefer a style over the other because they are just different and are usually used for completely different styles so I can't compare.

Best grind album ever.

If that's the case, I have had a wrong choice for listening to this album as one of my earliest grind album. I'm afraid that other albums will result in disappointment for me compared to this

Well, this was one of my earlier grind albums too I think, but there's lots of fantastic grind out there so sure you won't be too disappointed. I just find that this one happens to be especially well balanced.

I'm too much in love with Pig Destroyer to say anything. But yeah, there are lots and lots of great grind around. Some are just too different.

Don't you mean World Downfall?

Granted that was my first choice, alongside Dr. Mister's Pig Destroyer (I would've gone for Prowler) but I didn't wanna seem like I was playing favorites.

Then again, Horrified is also one of my favorite grind albums.

5 years it's been now since they released an album. They really need to get all their silly side projects done and out the way so they can do another.

I could go for another Frozen Corpse Stuffed With Dope, but I put that release and Agorapocalypse on the same level.

It's funny how music can cause you to experience very specific memories. This one reminds me heavily of a small park by a river I used to walk through back in Canterbury (because parks are fucking grind fodder, amirite?). I was back in Canterbury a few weeks ago and made a point of having this on when I walked through it. It was nice.

Yeah, because listening to the sound of water and birds chirping is too mainstream. Hipster Joe.
No but seriously, when this album ended, I felt uncomfortable because there was too much silence. So dense. I needed another go.

Honestly, the lack of ANb albums ever since this has felt like a deathly silence in my life. And then they announce they're playing live for the first time in forever... in the US.

They'll be playing at MDF almost at the same time as we're up in Bristol for Temples. We could have used all that money we spent last week on our tickets towards getting you plane tickets to go see them there, but we're bad friends. Didn't I read somewhere there will be new material released soon? They failed to give updates on that.

Yeah, I'm currently constructing voodoo dolls of you three fashioned into a Human Centipede shape because of your selfishness.

As far as I know the band members were doing their own things / interpretations of ANb, 3 albums to be exact. I haven't heard anything about it for a while but then again I stopped following the Facebook page as one of the members was basically using it as personal blog and posting exceeding dumb nonsense.

Pig Destroyer will be playing. You gotta shout to Scott Hull to play some AN stuff.... If you can shout louder than J.R. Hayes that is.

Actually, I've changed my mind, because I realized this album is actually not grindcore. I hate being a genre elitist or whatever, but this is actually much closer to something I'd call thrash metal or hardcore. It doesn't have death metal elements and it is way more mid-paced, therefore it really isn't that grind. Still really awesome album though, I've heard it many times.
