According to their official Facebook page, it seems safe to assume that Moonsorrow has just finished recording their new album. No more details have been revealed at this time, but we can surely expect to hear more from the folk metallers in the near future. One thing's for sure: the follow-up to Varjoina Kuljemme Kuolleiden Maassa is nearing completion. Stay tuned!

The official statement reads as follows: "I just had my first warm meal in four days. At home. We're done. And it's fucking good."

It follows a statement made yesterday, reading: "Mixing day 9/10. Another 13 hours in the studio behind. The eyebags are getting heavier. The adrenaline prevents us from sleeping or eating. This album is definitely trying to be a killer."

The Finnish band joined Century Media Records back in 2012 and have been working on a new album since.

I kind of lost interest after Verisäkeet. Hoping they can bring some of the old magic back, or maybe change things up in a more engaging way.

Varjoina Kuljemme Kuolleiden Maassa was awesome. Hope this is a worthy follow-up.

I kind of lost interest after Verisäkeet.

I'm the opposite, I've considered them good from Jotunheim onwards

Kivenkantaja is their best, but Varjoina... is a very good record that I continue returning to, and Huuto was an amazing song - the only real problem with that album was that the songs seemed to overly rely upon repetition and produce songs that could've been a bit shorter. Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing what they now have to offer

No doubt this will be great. Moonsorrow is a surprisingly consistent band regarding quality. My favorite album is probably Hävitetty but I'll gladly take anything they have to offer.

Kivenkantaja is their best

I personally prefer Voimasta ja kunniasta. That's a close second though. Very different albums.

Well, Voimasta is definitely second best in my books. Honestly, I've heard both albums several times and strongly enjoyed both but can't quite recall much from either of them without cue so I just have to go on gut instinct from how I remember feeling listening to each of them. To be honest, both albums make me happy and lure me into listening to them again so based on that both are pretty damn fine, but I couldn't quite argue either being better than the other
