Don't remember being overly enamoured with the other stuff of theirs I've heard, but I'll be a monkey's uncle if this isn't some damn fine musics.
I could've sworn you were the one who suggested this to me a few years ago, and I've been digging everything they've released since then. This may be a standout though as their best album

If I did I've totally forgotten about it! I think I need to revisit the previous records tbh.
I'll give this album credit; I don't think it's great, but I first listened to it some time last week, almost as background music, and after downloading it and playing it on my iPod this morning, I could instantly remember multiple songs on it as soon as they started playing - that's a fairly impressive level of memorability.
It's definitely a great album, but at the same time I'm not all that crazy over this new rocked out, heavier sound at work here. It makes the band's style a little less unique to me, and doesn't really make the music feel quite as transcendent. I much prefer an approach like this
---- I am the Magician and the Exorcist. I am the axle of the wheel, and the cube in the circle. “Come unto me” is a foolish word: for it is I that go.
Damn this is a very addictive album and the songwriting is really impressive. There is something uniquely good about metal artists doing non-metal albums and this is a prime example of that.
