Belfry is 7,8 for me or something... I would have rated it higher if the more experimental parts where woven in to the songs. As it is now it sounds like Jex Thoth with some additional short parts on the side. Good to see you found it though.

I'm totally addicted to it, very unique stuff imo. Seeing as I'm a sucker for both "retro" doom and ambient/drone with female vocals the album is like a match made in heaven.

Mortichnia

Even funnier is that James Kelly has been complaining about DsO clones but in reality he contribute to the creation of yet another :-D

Sure, it's not 100% copy but still.

Who is James Kelly?

I know three Irish James Kelly's, but not one of them is part of Mortichnia.
Looking at the line-up of Mortichnia there is no James Kelly part of the band.

Now I see what you mean. You mean James Kelly of Altar Of Plagues did the production, mixing and mastering of this Mortichnia album.

Yep, that is indeed my opinion. Such things tend to differ sometimes.

Thumbed up! Your list is very different of mine, but I like it. I'd never discovered Messa without yours, and it's a pretty good album. You should absolutly look at the Khemmis release this year!

Thanks!

Glad to see Messa getting some more appreciation. As for Khemmis, I liked parts of their debut so I've thought about giving the latest release a go but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Gave a couple of tracks by Ultha a shot, solid stuff. Thanks for the recommendation! When it comes to Murg, I haven't listened to their debut so I can't say how it compares to Gudatall.
