Bracing winds blow heavy mists across the ancient hillocks, vertebrae of soil trodden and venerated over millennia rising and falling like waves. Distant crows balefully cast their distinctive, corvine calls toward daybreak. Slowly, the weary earth awakens from its slumber. Cloistered somewhere in the verdant valley, bagpipes skirl into life, and the song begins anew. Saor returns.

Considering the songs released so far, this album seems to have already guaranteed to be one of the top albums of the year.

Next up on my tab. Anytime I can spin the disc and see what implementation they have done.

I'll be certainly looking over what they have done differently from "Aura".

Aura was better imo... the album artwork is awesome though.

Exactly, in some parts it was good (I liked the final track) but Aura was definitely a better inspiration.

This would be so much better with proper growls. It has beautiful moments though, especially Tears Of A Nation.

This is the best album of the year, in my opinion. The production is a lot less harsh than Aura (most notably in the drums). I think it allows the melodies and the atmosphere to shine through a lot more. I was driving down state and listening to this. One of the best drives of my life. Favorite track: Tears of a Nation

Aura and Roots definitely had more to offer, but this album was a solid release. It's grown on me the more I listen to it and I liked the fact that each song was better than the one that came before it, so listening all the way through is rather easy. However, all the songs are about the same length which makes them blend together, not a lot really stands out, and I find it much easier to get distracted from than its predecessors.

Some great melodies in the closer, but unfortunately each song sounds like a few riffs repeated for 10-12 minutes. Forgotten Paths is my personal favourite by this guy.
