2016 - My Best To Worst
Welcome to my 2016 list. Most of you are aware how lists on MS work :- If the album appears at the top it's amazing (imo) and highly recommend you give it a listen... if it's featured at the bottom then I probably don't like it. If you have any recommendations for albums, feel free to leave a message in the comments section!!
AOTY :- 2016 was not a bad year for metal. I ended up with less 10/10's than the previous year but 2016 produced a few albums that i'll always go back to, most notably Whispered - Metsutan: Songs Of The Void, which is full of oriental and Japenese influences and is exactly what I envisioned Wintersun Time to sound like before they released Time I. It's also one of those albums that for me, sums up all that metal is about, it's full of energy, relentless, catchy, and every song gives me goosebumps. Mesarthim - Pillars is also a fantastic EP, if you like black metal with futuristic/spacy keyboard influences, then you must give it a spin!!!
Anyway back to the list - each album on this list has been:
- Listened to 3 (or more) times.
- Released in 2016 only.
- Rated as a whole album and not song-by-song.

So far I've only heard "Frontiers" off of Omnium Gathering's "Grey Heavens," but it sounds epic. Glad to see it at the top of your list.

The Morphinist dude comes out with waaay to much music in a short amount of time. Wish he would take a year or so and just put out a full-length.
